Sending bulk SMS

Use Comms → SMS → Send SMS (/dashboard/sms/send) to message many customers at once: an outage notice, a new package, a promo code, or a reminder to pay. The page is called SMS Communications.

  1. Write the message. Under Send SMS, either pick a template in Select Template (Optional) or write your text in SMS Body. If you pick a template, leaving the body empty sends the template. Templates and messages can use variables such as {{CUSTOMER_NAME}} and {{ISP_NAME}}, which are filled in for each customer.
  2. Choose recipients. Under Select Recipients, either use a Bulk Selection Toggle or pick customers from the tables (see below).
  3. Click Send SMS.
  4. Check the count in Confirm SMS Send (“You are about to send an SMS to N customers. Are you sure?”) and click Yes, Send SMS.

SMS Send Progress shows how many have gone out. When it finishes you see “SMS send complete: N sent, N failed”. Failed messages and their errors appear in the message log on Comms → SMS.

Turn on one toggle to select a whole group:

Toggle Who it selects
All Customers Every hotspot and PPPoE customer.
PPPoE Customers / Hotspot Customers Every customer of that service.
Active Customers / Active PPPoE / Active Hotspot Customers with a current, paid connection.
Inactive Customers / Inactive PPPoE / Inactive Hotspot Customers without an active connection.

Open Filters to narrow the list, then select customers from the hotspot and PPPoE tables (columns Account #, Name, Phone, Package and Last Seen). Click Reset Filters to start again.
