Payment settings
Settings → Payments Settings (/dashboard/settings/payments) is where you
decide how customers pay you. If you add nothing here, ISPMan collects payments
for you and you withdraw your balance (see
Withdrawals). Connect your own provider when you want
money to go straight into your own account.
What you see on the page
Section titled “What you see on the page”- Create multiple Payment Providers: a row of provider tiles. Only providers available in your ISP’s country are shown. Click a tile to start connecting it. Tiles marked Soon are not available yet; clicking one lets you join the waitlist and you are told when it goes live.
- Manage integrated payment providers: a card for each provider you have added, with its status and actions. A card with a green border has passed a test; a red border means it has not been tested successfully yet.
- Callback URLs: ready-made URLs you can register with a provider yourself when ISPMan does not push payments for you.
In Kenya you will typically see M-Pesa and Paystack, plus any other providers available in your country.
Connect M-Pesa
Section titled “Connect M-Pesa”M-Pesa supports four ways to receive money. Pick one in M-PESA Shortcode Type:
| Shortcode type | Use it when | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Paybill | You have your own Paybill and a live M-Pesa (Daraja) app with Lipa na M-PESA Express (STK Push) and C2B. | Paybill Shortcode, Paybill Consumer Key, Paybill Consumer Secret, Paybill Pass Key |
| Till | You have a Buy Goods Till and just want payments to go to it. | M-PESA Till Number |
| Till via API | You have a Till plus a live M-Pesa app with Lipa na M-PESA Express (STK Push). | Business Shortcode, M-PESA Till Number, Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, Pass Key |
| Paybill via Bank | You want M-Pesa payments to go straight into a bank account through the bank’s Paybill. | Bank Paybill Number, Bank Account Number, Bank Name |
The pass key is the one sent to your email when your live M-Pesa app was approved.
- Go to Settings → Payments Settings and click the M-Pesa tile. The Connect M-PESA window opens.
- In Select Service, choose which customers this provider is for:
all, hotspotorpppoe. - Choose the M-PESA Shortcode Type and fill in the fields that appear.
- Click Save. The provider appears under Manage integrated payment providers.
- Click Enable on its card.
- For a Paybill, click Generate URLs, then Register URLs so M-Pesa sends confirmations to ISPMan.
- Click Test, enter an Amount and an M-PESA Wallet Number, and click Submit. Approve the prompt on that phone, then check Payments → Received to confirm the payment came in.
Managing a provider
Section titled “Managing a provider”Each provider card shows Services, Status (Enabled or Disabled) and, for M-Pesa, the Type. Use the icons and buttons on the card:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Eye icon | Shows or hides the stored keys. |
| Pencil icon | Opens Edit M-PESA (or the provider’s edit form). Any change means you must test again. |
| Bin icon | Deletes the provider. |
| Sandbox / Live | For a Paybill, switches between M-Pesa’s test and live environments. Use Live for real customer payments. |
| Enable / Disable | Turns the provider on or off. Disabling stops all transactions on it immediately. |
| Refresh URLs | Generates new callback URLs. Old ones stop working at once, so register the new ones. |
| Require OTP step / Remove OTP step | For providers that support it (such as Paystack), asks customers for a one-time password the first time they pay. |
Several tills or providers for one service
Section titled “Several tills or providers for one service”You can enable more than one provider for the same service, for example one till per branch. When editing a provider you can limit it to a device (one router) and/or a location (every router with that location). A customer qualifies if their router is the chosen device or is at the chosen location. Leaving both on “All” means no restriction.
Other providers
Section titled “Other providers”Paystack and the other providers each have their own connect form asking for the keys from that provider’s dashboard. The steps are the same: connect, choose the service, enable, set up the callback or webhook if the card offers it, and test.
